The petitioner has preferred the present writ petition to seek a mandamus directing the State to extend the parole granted to the petitioner for a period of one week with effect from 28.02.2017. The petitioner has already been released on parole for a period of one month vide order dated

06.01.2017. The said parole is expiring today. The reason for seeking extension of parole by one week is stated to be the marriage of the petitioner's cousin Pradeep Tomar (grandson of late Sh. Charan Singh and son of Sh. Kishan Singh) with Preeti. The petitioner has placed on record the wedding invitation card in this respect.

Since the petition has been preferred belatedly, there is hardly any time for verifying the facts stated in the petition, particularly, because the marriage is fixed at Bulandshahar in U.P. However, considering the fact that the petition is supported by the affidavit of the petitioner, the period of parole is extended by one week from today and the petitioner shall now surrender on next Tuesday, i.e. 07.03.2017 on the same terms & conditions on which he was earlier released on parole.

It is made clear to the petitioner that in case upon verification the factum of the wedding is found to be untrue, the same shall have repercussions for the petitioner on future consideration of his application for parole/ furlough.

The petition stands disposed of in the aforesaid terms. Dasti.
