This is a petition filed on behalf of petitioners seeking protection of life and liberty.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioners, submits that petitioner No. 1 got married to respondent No. 2 in 2024. Since thereafter, she was subjected to continuous cruelty on account of dowry demand. She was unlawfully confined and was extended threats. 3.

she returned to her parental home, but on 26.03.2025, she was forcefully taken back to her matrimonial home and was kept in confinement and was not allowed to meet or talk to anyone.

It is stated that petitioner No. 1 filed a written complaint dated 22.04.2025, regarding cruelty, which was registered as DD No. 71 at Police Station Karawal Nagar.

It is also submitted that sister of petitioner No. 1 filed a habeas corpus petition, but due to threats from respondent Nos. 2 to 4, she was compelled to withdraw the same.

It is stated that on 08.08.2025, petitioner No. 1 escaped from her matrimonial home and took shelter with petitioner No. 2, who is her brotherin-law. Since then, she is receiving continuous threats of life and liberty and despite her complaint, no FIR has been registered. 7.

Learned ASC appearing on behalf of State, submits that upon receipt of complaint, the Police authorities tried to contact petitioner No. 1, but she did not respond. He further submits that complaints were made at Police Station Karawal Nagar, but at present, she is living at Laxmi Nagar. 8.

It is the duty of the State to protect the life of all the citizens and this Court, being the Constitutional Court, is expected to further the constitutional rights of the petitioners.

In that view of the matter, the court directs the State to provide protection to petitioners and ensure that no harm befalls on them particularly from respondents No. 2 to 4.

Since petitioners are apprehending threats to their life, the petition is disposed of with direction that SHO, Police Station Laxmi Nagar shall provide the mobile number of beat constable to the petitioners so that in case The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.
