The Applicant was admitted on default bail by the Trial Court by order dated 17th September, 2025, on furnishing of bail bonds in the sum of INR 5,00,000/- with two local sureties of the like amount, subject to certain other conditions. On a request made by the Applicant, the Trial Court, by order dated 27th September, 2025, reduced the surety amount from INR 5,00,000/- to INR 50,000/-.

The Applicant has filed the instant application under Section 484 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, seeking modification of the bail conditions. Mr. Naveen Malhotra, counsel for the Applicant, submits that the Applicant is a driver by profession and a permanent resident of Chennai. It is contended that the Applicant is, therefore, unable to arrange for local sureties as directed by the Trial Court. made for the relaxation of the bail condition to reduce the number of sureties to one and to dispense with the requirement of furnishing local sureties. 3.
Mr. Malhotra further submits that the Applicant is willing to mark his attendance at regular intervals before the jurisdictional police station where he shall be residing upon release.

Considering the above, the bail conditions imposed by the Trial Court in order dated 17th September, 2025, as modified by order dated 27th September, 2025, are further modified as follows: i.
The Applicant be released on bail on furnishing bail bonds of INR 50,000/- and one surety of the amount.
ii.
The Applicant shall, once in every three months, mark his attendance before the local police station, i.e., Mahalinga Puram, PO Nungam Bakkam, Sub District Chennai - 60034 and this intimation shall be given to the jurisdictional P.S.
iii.
All the other terms and conditions as delineated in order dated 17th September, 2025 shall remain intact.

It is pertinent to note that the Applicant did not expressly seek substitution of local sureties with other sureties in the prayers sought in the application. However, this Court, having considered the matter, finds it appropriate to grant the aforesaid relief, in the interest of justice. 6.
With the above directions, the application is disposed of along with pending application.
