By way of the present petition, the petitioner seeks quashing of the FIR bearing No. 057/2025, registered at Police Station Farsh Bazar, Delhi, for the offences punishable under Sections 74/351(3) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (hereafter 8BNS9), on the basis of the settlement arrived at between the parties.

Issue notice. The learned APP accepts notice on behalf of the State. 3.

The petitioner and respondent no. 2 are present before this Court and have been identified by their counsel and Investigating Officer (IO) concerned, Police Station, Farsh Bazar, Delhi. 4.

Brief facts of the case are that on 31.01.2025, when respondent no. 2 had gone to attend the marriage ceremony of her aunt, the petitioner who was also present at the said marriage, had allegedly misbehaved with the respondent no. 2 by holding her hand, touching her saree and looked at her The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. inappropriately. Consequently, upon the complaint by respondent no. 2, the present FIR came to be registered against the petitioner. It is further stated that with intervention of the respected members of the society and friends, the parties have now amicably settled their dispute vide Compromise Deed dated 18.03.2025.

On a query made by this Court, respondent no. 2 who has been identified by the IO, has categorically stated that she has entered into compromise out of her own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. Therefore, she has no objection if the present FIR is quashed. 6.

In view of the above, that the parties have amicably resolved their differences of their own free will, and without any coercion, no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. 7.

Accordingly, FIR bearing No. 057/2025, registered at Police Station Farsh Bazar, Delhi, for the offences punishable under Sections 74/351(3) of BNS and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed subject to petitioner depositing a sum of ₹ 10,000/- in the Delhi High Court Advocates' Welfare Fund within a period of 07 days and the compliance report of the same be also filed with the Registry of this Court. 8.

Accordingly, the present petition stands disposed of. 9.
