The application stands disposed of.

CRL.M.C. 8871/2024 1.

This is a petition filed under Section 528 of BNSS, 2023 seeking quashing of the FIR No. 199/2019 dated 09.07.2019 registered at PS Hauz Khas under Section 498A/406/34 of IPC.

During the pendency of the proceedings, the parties have arrived at a settlement dated 01.11.2021.

As per the settlement, a sum of Rs. 5 lakhs was to be paid to the respondent No.2, which stands already paid.

The petitioner is present in Court and has been identified by Mr. Khan, learned counsel.

The respondent No.2 is also present in Court and has been identified by the SI Manisha Sharma, PS Hauz Khas.

There is no child born out of the wedlock.

Since the parties have arrived at a settlement and no disputes are pending, I am convinced that quashing of such proceedings on account of compromise would bring peace and would secure ends of justice. The Court does not see any fruitful purpose if criminal proceedings are permitted to be prosecuted any further.

In this view of the matter, there is no reason to continue the proceedings.

In view of the settlement arrived at between the parties and in view of the sum of Rs. 5 lakhs paid to the respondent No.2, the FIR No. 199/2019 dated 09.07.2019 registered at PS Hauz Khas under Section 498A/406/34 of IPC and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are hereby quashed.
