The Petitioner, a convict serving a life sentence in FIR No. 497/2003, registered at P.S. Ambedkar Nagar, Delhi, seeks emergency parole on account of the demise of his son.

Counsel for the Petitioner submits that the Petitioner was previously granted custody parole for six hours on 21s September, 2025, on the same ground. However, certain other rituals remain to be completed, for which parole is sought.

As per the nominal roll, the Petitioner has been in custody for 21 years, 6 months and 5 days and has also earned a remission of 3 years, 6 months and 8 days. His jail conduct over the past year has been found to be satisfactory. furlough from 22nd July, 2025 to 5th August, 2025. 4.

The death of the Petitioner's son is not in dispute, as the Petitioner was indeed granted custody parole on 21st September, 2025. It is pointed out that the Petitioner's formal application for parole, filed on 16th September, 2025, is still pending consideration. However, considering the overall facts and circumstances, and purely on humanitarian grounds, the Court is of the opinion that the urgency of the matter warrants immediate relief. Accordingly, the Petitioner is granted parole for a period of three weeks from the date of release, upon furnishing a personal bond in the sum of INR 10,000/- with one surety of the like amount, subject to the satisfaction of the Jail Superintendent concerned, verification of his address and compliance with the following conditions:

(i) The Petitioner shall report to the concerned SHO(s) once a fortnight during the period of parole.

(ii) The Petitioner shall furnish his telephone number to the SHO(s) concerned, which the Petitioner will keep operational at all times. (iii) The Petitioner shall surrender before the Jail Authorities at the expiry of the period of parole.

(iv) He shall not leave the territory of NCT of Delhi. 5.

The petition is disposed of in the above terms. 6.

A copy of the order be communicated to the concerned Jail Superintendent for information and necessary compliance.
