The present Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, seeking issuance of a direction in the nature of Habeas Corpus, directing the respondents to produce the brother of the petitioner, namely Mr. Jay, who is stated to have been taken away by two persons claiming themselves to be police officials of the Uttar Pradesh Police.

A copy of the Status Report dated 14.10.2025 has been handed over to us by the learned counsel appearing for the respondent nos. 2 The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. The Status Report confirms that Mr. Jay was arrested by SI Mahesh Kumar and SI Yatendra from the Uttar Pradesh Police, however, no information regarding his arrest was received at the concerned Police Station in time. The Status Report further indicates that Mr. Jay is presently in judicial custody. 3.

None is appearing for the petitioner.

As Mr. Jay is stated to be in judicial custody, no further directions need to be passed in the present petition. 5.

Accordingly, the present petition is disposed of, leaving it open to the petitioner and Mr. Jay, to avail of their legal remedies in accordance with law.
