This is a petition filed under Section 482 CrPC (Section 528 BNSS) for quashing of FIR No. 887/2014, under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC, registered at PS Gandhi Nagar, Delhi.

The parties have arrived at a settlement before Delhi Mediation Centre, Karkardooma Courts, Delhi, wherein a sum of Rs. 1,60,000/- was to be paid to the respondent No. 2 at the time of quashing. The amount of Rs. 1,65,000/- has been given to the respondent No. 2 in Court today (including Rs. 5,000/- towards the delay in filing this quashing petition).

The petitioners are present in Court and are identified by Mr. Ajeet Kumar, Advocate.

Respondent No. 2 is also present and identified by Mr. Rajkumar, Advocate.

Since the parties have arrived at a settlement and no disputes are pending, I am convinced that quashing of such proceedings on account of compromise would bring peace and would secure ends of justice. The Court does not see any fruitful purpose if criminal proceedings are permitted to be prosecuted any further.

In view of the settlement, FIR No. 887/2014, under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC, registered at PS Gandhi Nagar, Delhi is quashed. 10.

The petition is accordingly disposed of.
