In view of the judgment of the learned Single Judge of this Court in the case of Govind Sarda Vs. Sartaj Hotels Apartments and Villas Pvt. Ltd. & Ors. 130 (2006) DLT 460, issues as to contempt can be decided by the concerned transferee jurisdictional court.

In the present case, the suit has been disposed of but there are pending applications with respect to contempt committed by the defendant, and therefore, these applications can be heard and disposed of by the transferee jurisdictional court inasmuch as the valuation of the suit as per the plaint was fixed at Rs.20,01,200/-.

An Office Order dated 24.11.2015 has been issued by Hon'ble the Chief Justice in exercise of powers conferred by Section 4 of the Delhi High Court (Amendment) Act, 2015, whereby ordinary suits which are not commercial matters having pecuniary jurisdiction up to the value of rupees two crores cannot be tried by this Court and commercial matters up to the value of rupees one crore cannot be tried by this Court. Accordingly, this suit is transferred for decision to the jurisdictional Court under the District & Sessions Judge (West), Tis Hazari Courts, Delhi. 4.
