This is a petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with section 528 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 ('BNSS') seeking issuance of appropriate directions to respondent No. 1 to grant police protection to the petitioner.

Mr. Chopra, learned counsel of the petitioner states that the petitioner has registered complaints against respondent Nos. 2 and 3 before SHO, P.S. Sangam Vihar for threatening and blackmailing the petitioner and his family. Respondent nos. 2 and 3 also happen to be police officers. 5.
Issue notice. Mr. Sinha, learned ASC accepts notice and without entering into the merits of the controversy or admitting the same to be true and correct, he states that the Mobile No. of a beat officer of PS Sangam Vihar will be shared with the petitioner's counsel, who will ensure that life and liberty of the petitioner and his family is protected. His statement is taken on record and the respondents shall be bound by the same. 6.
This Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the averments made in the petition.
