By way of the instant petition, the petitioner seeks quashing of FIR bearing No. 217/2016, registered at Police Station Sadar Bazar, Delhi for the commission of offence punishable under Sections 288/337/338/304A of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereafter 'IPC').

On the last date of hearing, the Court had directed that the mother of the deceased be impleaded as a party. Pursuant to the said order, the mother of the deceased is present in Court and her affidavit of settlement is on record.

The petitioner and mother of deceased are present before this Court. They have been identified by their counsels and concerned Investigating Officer (IO) from Police Station Sadar Bazar, Delhi. 4.
Briefly stated, facts of the present case are that in the year 2018, on the complaint of mother of deceased, the present FIR was registered against the petitioner under the relevant sections. parties have amicably settled the present matter vide Memorandum of Settlement dated 11.02.2025, entered between them. 5.
On a query made by this Court, mother of deceased, who has been identified by the concerned IO, has categorically stated that she has entered into compromise out of her own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. It is also stated by respondent nos. 2 to 4 that the entire dispute has been amicably settled between the parties and an amount of Rs.2 lakhs has been received by the mother of the deceased. It is further stated by the mother of the complainant that she has no objection, if the present FIR is quashed.

In view of the above fact that the parties have amicably resolved their differences of their own free will, without any coercion and no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. 7.
Accordingly, FIR bearing No. 217/2016, registered at Police Station Sadar Bazar, Delhi for the commission of offence punishable under Sections 288/337/338/304A of IPC and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

In view of the above, the present petition stands disposed of. 9.
