This petition has been filed assailing decision of the Sentence Review Board dated 30th June 2023, rejecting the plea of pre-mature release of the petitioner.

Counsel for petitioner states that petitioner has already undergone about 25 years of custody, with remission, in FIR No. 196/2003 PS S.B Badli under Section 302 IPC and has been released on furlough and parole on many occasions.

Mr. Sanjeev Bhandari, ASC for the State submits that, this matter was recommended to SRB, on 18th September 2024, to be assessed on the basis of the 2004 Policy, and the decision is expected within a period of 8 weeks.

Counsel for the petitioner, in light of the same, seeks leave to withdraw this petition with liberty to seek remedy at a subsequent stage, in the event the SRB rejects the recommendation. 5.
