% 14.03.2018 The petitioners are seeking quashing of the present FIR i.e. FIR No.0172/2010 registered under Sections 498-A/406 read with Section 34 of the IPC at Police Station Jyoti Nagar on the complaint of respondent No. 2. Respondent No. 2 is present in Court. Her presence has been identified by the Investigating Office. Parties had been married in the year 2007; their marriage did not work; they were living separately since the year 2008. They have now been divorced by a decree of mutual consent dated 29.01.2018. No child was born out of their wedlock. In terms of their settlement, a sum of Rs.5,000/- has been agreed to be paid by petitioner No. 1 to respondent No. 2 of which Rs.4 lacs already stands paid and the balance amount of Rs.1 lac has been paid by petitioner No. 1 to respondent No. 2 in Court today. Parties endorse this settlement.

This is a fit case where the prayer made in the petition should be granted. Accordingly to secure the ends of justice, FIR No.0172/2010 registered under Sections 498-A/406 read with Section 34 of the IPC at Police Station Jyoti Nagar and all proceedings emanating thereto are quashed.

Petition disposed of in the above terms.
