The present bail application is filed seeking regular bail in FIR No. 668/2021 dated 24.11.2021, registered at Police Station Govind Puri, for offences under Sections 376/506 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 and Section 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (POCSO).

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the State, at the outset, submits that the trial is at the fag end and only four witnesses remain to be examined.

The trial in the present case relates to offence under Section 4 of the POCSO as well. Section 35 of the POCSO mandates the learned Trial Court to complete the trial within a period of one year from the date of cognizance. 4.

Considering the above, this Court is hopeful that the trial will conclude shortly.

In view of the above, this Court does not consider it apposite to entertain the present bail application at this stage. 6.

The applicant is, however, at liberty to file an application afresh if the trial does not conclude within a period of six months.
