This is a petition filed under Section 528 of BNSS seeking quashing of FIR No. 53/2024, registered at Police Station - Cyber, North-East, Delhi, under Section 420 of IPC.

The allegations are that the petitioner defrauded the complainant of Rs. 2,83,600/- on the pretext of providing visa, tickets and accommodation for Haj Yatra. It was subsequently found that the tickets and the hotel bookings were fake.

The parties have arrived at a settlement on 07.10.2024, wherein the complainant has received an amount of Rs. 2 lakhs and agreed to cooperate in quashing of the aforesaid FIR.

The petitioner is present in Court and identified by his counsel, Mr. Deepanshu Rana, Advocate. It is stated that the offence committed by the accused person is a compoundable offence.

2/complainant is present through video conference mode and is identified by IO, SI Nandan Singh, PS- Cyber North East and states that the matter has been settled. 8.

Both the parties state that they have entered into the aforesaid settlement out of their own free will, volition and without any threat, force, undue influence or coercion.

Since the parties have arrived at a settlement and no disputes are pending, I am convinced that quashing of such proceedings on account of compromise would bring about peace and would secure the ends of justice. This court does not see any fruitful purpose if criminal proceedings are permitted to be prosecuted any further. It is a fit case for quashing. 10.

For the reasons stated above, FIR No. 53/2024, registered at Police Station - Cyber, North-East, Delhi, under Section 420 of IPC, and consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are hereby quashed. 11.

The petition is disposed of accordingly.
