The petitioners have filed the present petition praying protection of their life and liberty.

Petitioner No. 1 is a senior citizen of 73 years of age. Petitioner No.2 is the son of Petitioner No.1. It is stated that Petitioner No.2 is handicapped.

The learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the neighbours of the petitioners have been threatening them from the last few years.

He submits that on 05.10.2024, one of the neighbours came and slapped Petitioner No.2, due to which he fell down. submits that thereafter, he started kicking Petitioner No.2. He submits that after Petitioner No.1 took Petitioner No.2 inside the house, the neighbours broke open the door of the petitioners' house and started beating both of them. He submits that although a PCR call was made, however, no one came to their rescue. 7.

He submits that the allegations clearly disclose commission of a cognizable offence despite which no action has been taken.

The learned Additional Standing Counsel for the State, at the outset, submits that the complaint was marked to an officer who has since been transferred. He submits that appropriate action will be taken in accordance with law forthwith. 9.

He further submits that the phone number of the concerned beat officer would be provided to the petitioners and they would be free to call the said officer in case they feel threat to their life and liberty.

Petitioner No. 1 is a senior citizen of 73 years of age. The concerned beat officer is directed to visit the petitioners' house regularly.

No further orders are required to be passed at this stage. The petitioners are at liberty to approach this Court or file an appropriate application before the concerned Magistrate in case any grievance remains in future.
