The present petitions have been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing Punjabi Academy, Delhi, GNCTD (Respondent No. 1) to issue appointment letters to the Petitioners for their deployment as PartTime Punjabi Assistant Teachers on contractual basis in MCD schools for the Academic Session 2025-26.

It is noted that vide communication dated 25th September, 2025 issued by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (Respondent No. 3) to the Head of Department of Punjabi Academy, it was conveyed that, as per past practice, if Punjabi Academy intended to continue deployment of Part-Time Punjabi Language Teachers in MCD schools, the responsibility for sourcing and remuneration of such teachers would lie exclusively upon it. 3.

Counsel for the Petitioners submits that, pursuant thereto, appointment/deployment letters have since been issued to the Petitioners in December, 2025/January, 2026 and, accordingly, the grievance raised in the present petitions stands redressed.
