This writ petition is directed against order dated 7 February 2025 passed by the Central Administrative Tribunal1 in OA 3816/2022 in which the respondent has challenged the decision of the petitioner not to grant compassionate appointment to the respondent. 2.

The respondent's case for grant of compassionate appointment was placed in abeyance vide order dated 21 February 2019 on the ground that there was a ban on recruitment of compassionate appointment.

That ban has now been lifted by order dated 12 March 2026 1 "the Tribunal", hereinafter Signed By:PREETI 17:17:44 W.P.(C) 16203/2025

issued by the Central Water Commission2. Mr. Nagendra Kumar Singh, Executive Engineer who appears for CWC submits that consequent on the lifting of the ban, the case of the respondent has again been put up for consideration.

As such, the cause of action for the writ petition does not survive.

Learned Counsel for the petitioner on instruction seeks leave to withdraw the writ petition.
