% 16.03.2016 The petitioner has filed the present petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking directions to the respondents to pay to the petitioner basic pay since 04.03.2013 at par with the basic pay of non-judicial member of NCDRC namely Dr.S.M. Kantikar who is neither a retired Secretary to the Government of India nor a retired judge of a High Court.

The petitioner also seeks directions to the respondents to pay basic salary equal to Dr.S.M. Kantikar under Rule 11(1A)(a) of The Consumer Protection Rules, 1987 (Rules) from 01.10.2014 i.e. the date from which the petitioner has withdrawn the option given under Rule 11(1A)(a) of the Rules. The main grievance of the petitioner is that the petitioner had made a representation dated 14th October 2015 which is still pending. Mr.Anurag Ahluwalia, learned counsel for the respondents

enters appearance on advance notice.

Learned counsel for the respondents submits that the representation of the petitioner dated 14.10.2015 shall be decided within a period of four weeks from today. Mr.R.R. Kumar, learned counsel for the petitioner is satisfied with the aforesaid and submits that petition may be disposed of. In view of the aforesaid, it is deemed appropriate to dispose of the petition with the directions that the respondents shall decide the petitioner's representation dated 14.10.2015 within a period of four weeks from today and decision thereof will be communicated to the petitioner within one week thereafter.

The petition stands disposed of accordingly.
