The petitioner, who is the president of a proposed political party by the name - Rashtriya Aman Party, has applied to the Election Commission of India ["ECI"] for registration of the political party under Section 29A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951. The application was made on 16.01.2024, but his grievance is that documents and particulars are being sought from time to time and the process of registration remains pending for an inordinately long time. 2.

that the documents sought by ECI by letter dated 30.10.2024 have been received on 11.11.2024. He states that the documents are now pending scrutiny. If any further discrepancies in the petitioner's application or documents are found, or any further clarification is required, will be notified to the petitioner within thirty days from today. If no further documents or clarifications are required, the application will be processed to the next stage, i.e., for publication of newspaper advertisement by the petitioner. Learned counsel for the ECI assures the Court that further processing of the application will be done expeditiously, particularly having regard to the petitioner's intention that the proposed political party will participate in the elections for the Legislative Assembly for Delhi, which are to be held in the year 2025.

Noting the aforesaid submissions on behalf of ECI, the writ petition is disposed of, with liberty to the petitioner to agitate his grievance afresh in the event the aforesaid assurance is not complied with.
