All the seven petitioners seek initiation of contempt proceedings against the respondent for non-compliance of the order dated 19.09.2024 passed by learned Division Bench of this Court in W.P.(C) 13124/2024. 2.

As per the above said order, the respondents were directed to ensure that the cases of the petitioners are expeditiously placed for consideration before the Standing Screening Committee (SCC) and a final decision regarding their candidature is taken within a period of eight weeks. 3.

Learned counsel for respondent-Union of India has informed that the SSC has already taken a decision on 03.10.2024 and as far as petitioner no.1-Saurabh Yadav, petitioner no.2-Raut Vijay Subhash, petitioner CONT.CAS(C) 1830/2024 1 The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.

no.3-Rahul Kumar, petitioner no.6-Pankaj Kumar, petitioner no.7-Sombir are concerned, they have been found suitable and their names have, accordingly, been recommended for further approval and the competent authority has also accorded its approval qua them and very shortly, preferably within ten days from today, such decision shall be conveyed to them. 4.

As far as petitioner no.4 -Ravi Prakash is concerned, SSC has considered his candidature and has taken a decision as well, which is pending approval before the concerned competent authority. It is undertaken that decision in this regard shall be communicated to petitioner no.4-Ravi Prakash within one week from today.

It is also stated by learned counsel for respondent that in relation to petitioner no.5-Vinit Singh, the 19th Standing Screening Committee wanted certain additional documents and in terms thereof, the documents have already been received on 14.11.2024 and since same additional time would be taken for convening next Standing Screening Committee, it is stated that in any case, the decision in respect of petitioner no.5 Shri Vinit Singh shall be taken within six weeks from 14.11.2024.

In view of the above said statement made by learned counsel for respondent-Union of India, learned counsel for petitioners submits that he does not press the present contempt petition, at the moment. He states that if, eventually, petitioner nos.4 and 5 are not found suitable, he would reserve his right to take further substantive action as permissible under law. He also states that in case the communication is not conveyed to the petitioners, as undertaken above, he be given permission to revive the present contempt petition.
