The Petitioner is a convict serving life sentence in case FIR No. 291/2011, registered under Sections 302/392/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 and Section 14 of the Foreigners Act, 1946 at P.S. Tilak Nagar. 2.

The grievance of the Petitioner is that despite fulfilling the eligibility criteria prescribed in the applicable guidelines, his case is not being considered by the Sentence Review Board for premature release. 3.

Without going into the merits of the case, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to the State to consider the case of the Petitioner for premature release, and if found eligible, to place the same before the Sentence Review Board in its next meeting for appropriate consideration.
