The present petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking that the respondent no.1 /Delhi Development Authority (DDA) and the respondent no.2 /The District Magistrate (South) be directed to grant permission for temporary use of Satpullah Park, Near Chirag Delhi, Adjoining MCD Dhallon, Gate No.CI SFS Flats, Near Triveni Shopping Complex, Sheikh Sarai-1, New Delhi, for organizing the ancient vedic festival of 'Chhath Puja Mahaparv' at the requisite area in terms of the petitioner's application dated 10.07.2025.

The grievances raised by the petitioner are two-fold: i.
Although, the permitted area which was initially sought to be made available to the petitioner was to the extent of 4000 square meters, The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.
sanctioned vide letter No.F.3(4)/2025-26/CE(HORT.)/DDA/601 dated 13.10.2025, the same was revised to 2000 square meters vide letter dated 18.10.2025. It is submitted that the area was arbitrarily curtailed thereby causing severe inconvenience and financial distress to the petitioner for the purpose of organizing the event. ii.
It is submitted that the respondent no.3/Deputy Commissioner of Police, South District, be directed to deploy adequate police personnel for the purpose of the aforesaid event. It is submitted that although the event is slated to commence in a few hours, the requisite police clearances / approvals are not yet in place and it is imperative that the same be issued and adequate police personnel be deployed to ensure that there is no untoward law and order situation. 3.
During the course of hearing, it transpired that the area allocated to the petitioner has been restored to 4000 square meters vide communication dated 21.10.2025, issued by the respondent no.1/DDA. The said letter has been handed over during the course of hearing. 4.
It is further pointed out by learned counsel for the respondent no.1/DDA that the 4000 square meters is the maximum feasible area that can be made available to the petitioner, in view of the fact that the area is ecological sensitive. It is submitted that apart from the said area of 4000 square meters, allocated to the petitioner, no allocation has been made in favour of any other applicant, for any other purpose during the overlapping period. The said statement is taken on record. 5.
Further, learned counsel for the respondent no.3 submits that the petitioner's request for grant of necessary police / security approval is under active consideration and that the needful formalities would be completed The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.
expeditiously and within time so as to enable the petitioner to commence the event on 25.10.2025 (i.e. today itself).

The SHO, Malviya Nagar is directed to ensure that adequate police personnel are deployed to ensure that law and order is maintained and there is no untoward incident during the period when the petitioner is conducting the aforesaid event.

The above redresses the grievance of the petitioner in the present petition. The same is, accordingly, disposed of. 8.
