The Petitioner is a convict, presently serving life sentence in FIR No. 179/2011 under Sections 364-A/120-B/34 of Indian Penal Code, 1860, registered at P.S. Adarsh Nagar. It is submitted that the Petitioner has undergone more than 14 years of incarceration and is, therefore, eligible to be considered for premature release. An application to this effect has already been submitted before the Director General (Prisons) for consideration. 2.
In view of the above, and without delving into the merits of the case or adjudicating upon the question of the Petitioner's eligibility, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to the concerned authority to consider the Petitioner's application, in accordance with law.
