Petitioner is stated to be serving life sentence in case FIR No. 256/2010 under Section 364A/120B/201/302/34 IPC registered at P.S. Vikaspuri, Delhi.

The criminal appeal filed by the petitioner has been dismissed by the this Court vide judgment dated 23.12.2022. The SLP filed by the petitioner has since been dismissed by the Hon'ble Supreme Court by order dated 06.10.2023.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner has served sentence of more than 14 years and as per Delhi Jail Manual, 2018, he is eligible to be considered for pre-mature release after serving sentence of 14 years of actual imprisonment (without remission). be considered for premature release.

The writ petition is disposed of with direction that the present petition be considered as a representation for placing the name of the petitioner for premature release before the Sentence Review Board in the upcoming Sentence Review Board Meeting.
