This petition is filed seeking quashing of show cause notice dated 24.09.2025.

The brief facts are that the petitioner joined the respondent - University on 14.08.1985 as a Tutor Nursing. After being promoted to Lecturer Nursing in 1994, the petitioner applied for voluntary retirement on 29.06.2004. The request for voluntary retirement was accepted on 02.07.2004. The petitioner thereafter continued to receive pension. 3.

The petitioner is stated to be now of 79 years old and is settled in Ireland. In November, 2024, the life certificate issued by the Consulate Office at Delhi was given to the respondent. complied with. Instead of granting the pension, the impugned show cause notice dated 24.09.2025 was issued to the petitioner to show cause as to why the order of voluntary retirement be not withdrawn. The petitioner responded to show cause notice vide reply dated 06.10.2025. 4.

The grievance raised is that consequent to issuance of show cause notice, the petitioner is being denied the pension and inspite of filing the reply, the matter is not proceeding further.

Mr. Swaroop George, advocate, appears on advance notice for the respondent.

Without commenting upon the merit of the case, considering that the issue of pension is involved and the petitioner is a super senior citizen, this petition is disposed of directing the respondent to decide the matter arising from issuance of the impugned show cause notice in accordance with law within eight weeks from today, after providing an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner or through her representative. 7.

In order to avoid any further complication, let the petitioner within one week give the email or the mode of correspondence for informing the date fixed for personal hearing.

The petition is disposed of. All pending applications are disposed of. 9.

Needless to say the petitioner shall be at liberty to avail remedies in accordance with law if aggrieved of the decision.
