This is a writ petition seeking quashing of FIR No. 534/2023 dated 17.11.2023 under Section 498A/406/34 IPC registered at PS Farsh Bazar. 2.

Parties have arrived at a settlement dated 17.05.2024 before Delhi Mediation Centre, Karkardooma, wherein a total sum of Rs. 7.5 lakhs was to be paid.

Rs. 6.5 has already been paid and the remaining Rs. 1 lakh is being paid today vide DD No. 027938 dated 18.11.2024 drawn on Axis Bank. 4.

Petitioners are present in Court and is identified by Mr. SC Mittal, learned counsel.

Respondent No. 2 is present in Court and is identified by Mr. Prashant Sharma, learned counsel.

There is no child borne out of the wedlock.

Parties state that they have arrived at the settlement out of their own free will without any threat, pressure, coercion or undue influence. 8.

I am of the opinion that no useful purpose would be served in prosecuting the FIR any further on the ground that the parties have arrived at a voluntary settlement and settled their disputes. 9.

I am convinced that quashing of such proceedings on account of compromise would bring about peace and would secure ends of justice. The Court does not see any fruitful purpose if criminal proceedings as permitted to continue any further. It is a fit case for quashing. In this view of the matter, there is no reason to continue the proceedings. 10.

For the aforesaid reasons, FIR No. 534/2023 dated 17.11.2023 under Section 498A/406/34 IPC registered at PS Farsh Bazar is hereby quashed. 11.

The petition is disposed of in the aforesaid terms.
