This is a petition filed under section 528 of BNSS, 2023 seeking quashing of the FIR No. 538/2021 dated 26.08.2021 registered at PS Narela Industrial Area under Sections 498A/406/34 of IPC. 2.
During the pendency of the proceedings, the parties have arrived at a settlement dated 05.12.2023, wherein a total sum of Rs. 5 lakhs was to be paid by the petitioner to the respondent No. 2. 3.
A sum of Rs. 3.5 lakhs has already been paid by the petitioner and the balance sum of Rs. 1.5 lakhs is being paid today vide DD No. 124204 dated 28.11.2024 drawn on Bank of Baroda.

The petitioner is present in Court and is identified by Ms. Meenakshi Bisht, learned counsel. The respondent No. 2 is also present and is identified by SI Deepak, PS Narela Ind. Area. The parties state that they have arrived at a settlement out of their own free will and without any threat, pressure, coercion or undue influence. 6.
There is no child born out of the wedlock.

I am satisfied that the matter has been settled and the settlement is lawful. Since the parties have arrived at a settlement and no disputes are pending, I am convinced that quashing of the present FIR and the consequential proceedings emanating thereafter would bring peace and secure ends of justice.

In view of the above facts and since no useful purpose will be served in continuance of the present criminal proceedings, it is directed that the aforesaid FIR and the consequent proceedings arising therefrom are hereby quashed.
