The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India read with Section 528 of BNSS, 2023 seeking quashing of FIR No. 548/2025 under Sections 110, 115(2), 126(2) & 3(5) BNS 2023 registered at Police Station Jaitpur, South-East, Delhi and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom on the ground that the parties have arrived at a settlement.

The petitioners, as well as, respondent no. 2/complainant are present in the Court and they have been identified by their respective counsel, as well as, by the Investigating Officer i.e. SI Sushil, P.S. Jaitpur, New Delhi. 7.
Mr. Pran Krishna Jana, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners submits that though the FIR has been registered under Section 110 of BNS, 2023, however, the injury has been found to be simple in nature. This fact is also affirmed by Mr. Khatri, on instructions from the I.O., who is present in Court.

It is also submitted by Mr. Jana that during the pendency of proceedings, the parties have arrived at a settlement, terms whereof have been reduced in writing in the form of Settlement Agreement dated 27.08.2025 which is annexed as Annexure P-3 to the present petition. 9.
On a query posed by the Court, respondent no.2/complainant, who is present in Court, affirms the factum of settlement and states that he has no objection in case the aforesaid FIR is quashed. 10.
In view of the settlement between the parties, the ultimate chances of conviction in the case are bleak, therefore, continuation of criminal proceedings will not serve any useful purpose and it will be an exercise in futility.

It is, thus, in the interest of justice that the present FIR and all the other proceedings emanating therefrom be quashed. 12.
