During the pendency of the petition, the Collector of Stamps has passed an order dated 18.02.2026.

According to learned counsel for the respondents, the said order is appealable under Section 47(a)(4) of the Indian Stamp Act, 1899. The petitioner, however, submits that the petitioner be allowed to amend the petition and the availability of alternate remedy is not efficacious. 3.

The Court, however, finds that instead of allowing the petitioner to amend the petition, if the petitioner so desires and satisfies the Court that the order dated 18.02.2026 can be challenged in writ jurisdiction, it can be granted liberty to file a fresh writ petition.
