This is a petition seeking quashing of the FIR 50/2019 dated 15.02.2019 registered at PS Gazipur under Sections 498A/406/34 of IPC as well as the consequential proceedings emanating therefrom. 2.

As per the FIR, there are allegations of cruelty and harassment. 3.

The parties have arrived at a settlement dated 16.05.2024, wherein the petitioner has undertaken to pay a sum of Rs. 15.5 lakhs to the respondent No.2. A sum of Rs. 13.5 lakhs has already been paid and the balance sum of Rs. 2 lakhs is being paid today vide DD No. 844708 dated 08.11.2024 drawn on UCO Bank.

The petitioners are present in Court and have been identified by Mr. Mudassar Khan, learned counsel.

The respondent No.2 is also present in Court and has been identified by the IO SI Sanjeev, PS Ghazipur.

The respondent No.2 states that she has received the entire amount and has no disputes pending.

There is no child born out of the wedlock.

Since the parties have arrived at a settlement and no disputes are pending, I am convinced that quashing of such proceedings on account of compromise would bring peace and would secure ends of justice. The Court does not see any fruitful purpose if criminal proceedings are permitted to be prosecuted any further.

In this view of the matter, there is no reason to continue the proceedings.

10. For the said reasons, the FIR 50/2019 dated 15.02.2019 registered at PS Gazipur under Sections 498A/406/34 of IPC as well as the consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are hereby quashed.
