This is a petition filed under Section 528 of BNSS, 2023 seeking quashing of the FIR No. 528/2018, registered at PS Hari Nagar, under Sections 498A/406/34 of IPC and proceedings emanating from it. The chargesheet has been filed under Sections 377/354/406/498A/34 of IPC. 4.

The parties have arrived at a settlement dated 04.05.2024, wherein the petitioner has undertaken to pay a sum of Rs. 14 lakhs to the respondent No.

2. A sum of Rs. 10 lakhs has already been paid and the balance sum of Rs. 4 lakhs is being paid today vide DD No. 020177 dated 18.10.2024 drawn on HDFC Bank.

The petitioner is present in Court and has been identified by Mr. Jaideep Singh, learned counsel. The respondent No. 2 is also present in Court and has been identified by Mr. Ravinder Pal Singh, learned counsel and SI Mukesh Yadav, PS Hari Nagar.

The parties have already been divorced by a decree of mutual consent. 7.

There is no child born out of the wedlock.

Since the parties have arrived at a settlement and no disputes are pending, I am convinced that quashing of such proceedings on account of compromise would bring peace and would secure ends of justice. The Court does not see any fruitful purpose if criminal proceedings are permitted to be prosecuted any further. This is a fit case for quashing. 9.

For the said reasons, FIR No. 528/2018, registered at PS Hari Nagar, under Sections 498A/406/34 of IPC (charge sheet under Sections 377/354/406/498A/34 of IPC) and all consequential proceedings arising therefrom are hereby quashed.
