This is a petition filed under Section 29A (4) & (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of the mandate of the Arbitrator by a further period of 1 year for making and passing of the final Award.

Mr. Sinha, learned counsel for the petitioner, states that there were numerous applications filed before the Arbitrator and hence the delay. 3.

For the said reasons, issue notice.

Mr. Anand, learned counsel accepts notice on behalf of the respondent and has no objection to the petition being allowed. 5.

I am of the view that sufficient cause has been explained for the delay. 6.

In the view of the above, the petition is allowed and the mandate of the Arbitrator is extended by a period of 1 year from today. 7.
