W.P.(CRL) 3718/2024 By way of the present petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, the petitioner seeks parole on the ground that he needs to attend to the repair and maintenance of his ancestral house. 2.
Ms. Sunita Arora, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has served more than 14 years of judicial custody out of the life imprisonment awarded to him; that he has been granted parole and furlough on about 24 occasions previously; that his jail conduct has been 'satisfactory'; and that he has no other criminal involvements.

Ms. Arora however submits that the petitioner's application dated 27.09.2024 seeking parole has not been decided till date. 4.
Issue notice.

Mr. Amol Sinha, learned ASC (Criminal) appears for the State on advance copy; accepts notice; and submits that the parole application will be decided at the earliest.

In view of the above, the present petition is disposed-of with direction to the jail authorities to decide the petitioner's pending application dated 27.09.2024 for parole, within 04 weeks from the date of this order, under written intimation to the petitioner. 7.
The petitioner shall be at liberty to seek recourse against the decision so taken, as may be permissible, in accordance with law. 8.
A copy of this order be sent to the concerned Jail Superintendent forthwith.
