By the present petition, the petitioners essentially seek protection to their life and liberty, claiming that they got married against the wishes of their parents and, consequently, are facing a constant threat to their life and liberty.

Without going into the veracity of the claim or the allegations made by the petitioners, the learned Additional Standing Counsel for the State, at the outset on instructions, fairly states that the contact number of the concerned Beat Officer would be provided to the learned counsel for the petitioners.

She submits that the petitioners would be at liberty to take help of the Beat Officer of the concerned Police Station in case they feel any immediate threat to their life and liberty. She submits that the concerned Beat Officer would also be sensitized in that regard.

She submits that as and when any complaint is made by the petitioners, appropriate action will be taken in that regard in accordance with law.
