The Petitioner has filed the instant petition, being aggrieved by the non-issuance of her passport by the Respondent Authorities. The Petitioner had filed an application dated 11th January, 2024 for issuance of passport, however, the same was objected to, in the following terms: "Your nationality is doubtful as per police Verification Report." 2.

The objection list issued to this effect, provides for further action, calling upon the Petitioner to clarify at the Passport Office in person. Counsel for Petitioner states that pursuant to the aforenoted communication, an appointment was fixed on 03rd May, 2024, pursuant to which the Petitioner visited the passport office and submitted all the requisite documents, including her birth certificate and other documents demonstrating Petitioner's nationality.

Ms. Nidhi Raman, CGSC representing Respondents, states that as per her instructions, the Petitioner had not reported on the date fixed. 4.

Without going into the aforenoted controversy, since the question of the Petitioner's nationality has to be ascertained in light of the doubt expressed in the police verification report, the present petition is disposed of with following directions:

i.

The Petitioner shall meet the Regional Passport Officer (RPO) on 09th December, 2024 at 11:00 AM, with all the original requisite documents.

ii.

The RPO is directed to examine the documents and take a decision thereon. In case a further police verification is required to be conducted, the same may be undertaken so that the Petitioner's application for passport is considered and dealt with, in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible.

With the above directions, the petition is disposed of, along with pending application.
