The present petition has been filed on behalf of the petitioner seeking quashing of FIR No. 83/2013 registered under Sections 498-A IPC & Section 6 of the Dowry Prohibition Act at P.S. Gulabi Bagh, Delhi on the ground that the parties have amicably settled their disputes. 2.
The present FIR is an outcome of a matrimonial dispute between the daughter of complainant/respondent No. 2 and petitioner (husband). It is stated that the victim has passed away and she has been represented by her mother.

complainant. He further states that since the State machinery has been put in use, the petitioner be saddled with some costs. 4.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the parties have settled their disputes before Delhi Mediation Centre on 17.08.2024. In terms of the settlement, it was agreed that a sum of Rs.5,00,000/- as full and final settlement shall be paid by petitioner to the respondent No. 2 towards her daughter's claims qua maintenance, stridhan, alimony, etc. Today, a demand draft No. 093966 dated 03.12.2024 drawn on State Bank of India, South Extension Part-II, New Delhi, for a sum of Rs.5,00,000/- has been handed over to the mother/respondent No.2 in Court today. 6.
Petitioner, who is present in Court, has been identified by I.O./ SI Nishant, P.S. Gulabi Bagh.

The respondent No.2, who is also present in Court and identified by the I.O., states that she has settled all her disputes with petitioner out of her own free will, volition and without any coercion. She also acknowledges the receipt of entire settled amount and submits that she has no objection in case the FIR is quashed against the petitioner, subject to encashment of the demand draft of Rs.5,00,000/- handed over to her today in Court. 8.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that no other proceedings are pending between the parties.

The parties shall remain bound by the statements and undertaking made in Court today.

In view of the above facts and since no useful purpose will be served in continuance of the present criminal proceedings, it is directed that the aforesaid FIR and the consequent proceedings arising therefrom are hereby quashed, subject to encashment of aforesaid demand draft.
