This petition has been filed, under Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, seeking quashing of FIR No. 408/2024 registered at P.S. Rajouri Garden, under Section 498A/406/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860. The petition has been filed by two of the accused persons in the said FIR, who are the parents-in-law of the complainant.

At the very outset, Mr. Vikas Sharma, learned counsel for the petitioners, submits that the proceedings before the Trial Court are now at the stage of arguments on charge, and scheduled to be listed on 29.07.2026. In this view of the matter, Mr. Sharma submits that, instead of pressing this petition, the petitioners may be permitted to raise the arguments raised in this petition before the Trial Court at the stage of CRL.M.C. 8021/2025 Page 1 of 2 The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. arguments on charge/application for discharge. 3.

As the genesis of the disputes lies in a matrimonial relationship between the complainant and the son of the petitioners, Mr. Sharma also submits that an attempt be made to resolve the matters by mediation. He states, upon instructions, that the son of the petitioners [husband of the complainant] and their daughter, who are also accused in the said FIR, are also agreeable to joining the mediation.

Mr. Pratap Singh, learned counsel for the complainant, submits that the complainant is also agreeable to an effort at mutual resolution of the disputes.

In view of the above, the parties are referred to Samadhan, Delhi High Court Mediation and Conciliation Centre, Sher Shah Road, New Delhi - 110503.

The parties are directed to appear before the Mediator on 06.07.2026 at 04:00 PM. As the petitioners are residents outside Delhi, they may appear before the Mediator through video conference at the first session, and the Mediator may give necessary directions in this regard for subsequent mediation sessions. In the event, the Mediator considers it appropriate to seek physical presence of the concerned accused, Mr. Sharma states that they will abide by the directions of the Mediator. The Mediator is requested to furnish a report to the concerned Trial Court before the next date of hearing.

In view thereof, the petition, alongwith the pending application, is disposed of, in terms of the above submissions.
