This is a petition filed under section 528 of BNSS seeking quashing of FIR No. 1013/2020, dated 21.10.2020, registered at P.S. Bindapur, Delhi under Section 498-A/34 IPC, 1860 and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom, if any.

During the pendency of the proceedings, the parties have arrived at a settlement on 21.12.2023 before the Counselling Cell, Family Courts, Dwarka, Delhi. As per the settlement, the petitioner No.1/husband had to pay a sum of Rs. 8.74 lakhs to respondent No.2/wife towards full and final settlement of all her claims. There is no child born out of the wedlock 5.

already been paid and the balance sum of Rs. 2.74 lakhs is being paid today in Court vide Demand Draft bearing No. 727342, dated 08.10.2024, drawn on J & K Bank, Dwarka, Delhi.

The petitioners i.e. Mr. Parveen Jain (petitioner no. 1), Mrs. Sarla Jain (petitioner no. 2), Mr. Pramod Kumar (petitioner no. 3), Mr. Rakesh (petitioner no. 4), Ms. Anju (petitioner no. 5) and Mr. Raj Kumar (petitioner no. 6) are present in Court and are identified by their counsel, namely, Mr. Arjun Yadav, Adv.

Respondent No. 2 is also present in Court and has been identified by the Investigating Officer SI Lalit Kumar, P.S. Bindapur. 8.

All the parties state that they have entered into the aforesaid settlement out of their own free will, volition and without any threat, force, undue influence or coercion.

Since the parties have arrived at a settlement and no disputes are pending, I am convinced that quashing of such proceedings on account of compromise would bring about peace and would secure the ends of justice. This court does not see any fruitful purpose if criminal proceedings are permitted to be prosecuted any further. It is a fit case for quashing. In this view of the matter, there is no reason to continue the proceedings. 10.

For the reasons noted above, FIR No. 1013/2020, dated 21.10.2020, registered at P.S. Bindapur, Delhi under Section 498-A/34 IPC, 1860 and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom, if any are hereby quashed. 11.

The petition is disposed of accordingly.
