This is the petition filed under Section 528 of BNSS, 2023 seeking quashing of the FIR No. 510/2016 dated 26.12.2016 registered at PS Swaroop Nagar under Sections 452/354/354A/354C/354D of IPC. 2.
As per the FIR, it is stated that the petitioner misbehaved with the respondent No. 2 and there are allegations of molestation. 3.
The charge sheet has been filed and the parties have even led evidence and the same is concluded. The respondent No. 2 is present in Court and has submitted an affidavit stating that she has settled her disputes and has no objection for quashing of the FIR. 4.
It is also stated that the parties are neighbours and the FIR seems to be predicated on some trivial civil issues which have been given the colour of criminality.

The respondent No. 2 states that she does not wish to prosecute the FIR any further.

The parties have arrived at a settlement out of their own free will and without any undue influence, threat, pressure or coercion. 8.
I am of the opinion that no useful purpose would be served in prosecuting the FIR any further on the ground that the parties have arrived at a voluntary settlement and settled their disputes. 9.
I am convinced that quashing of such proceedings on account of compromise would bring about peace and would secure ends of justice. The Court does not see any fruitful purpose if criminal proceedings as permitted to continue any further. It is a fit case for quashing. In this view of the matter, there is no reason to continue the proceedings.
10. In view of the aforesaid, the FIR No. 510/2016 dated 26.12.2016 registered at PS Swaroop Nagar under Sections 452/ 354/ 354A/ 354C/ 354D of IPC and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are hereby quashed.
