O R D E R

The present appeal under Section 19 of the Family Courts Act, 1984 seeks to assail the order dated 08.10.2024 passed by the learned Family Court-01, West, Tis Hazari Courts, Delhi in HMA No.114/2018. Vide the impugned order, the learned Family Court has disposed of the application preferred by the appellant/ mother of the child, Ms. Janvi Khurana, who is in her custody, by directing the respondent/father to contribute a sum of Rs.5 lakhs per annum towards her education at the University of Bath, U.K. 2.

in order to amicably resolve the matter and taking into account that the amount being sought is for his own daughter, be willing to contribute 50% of the annual cost of fees for her education at the said University of Bath, U.K.

Today, learned counsel for the respondent, on instructions from the respondent who is present in Court, fairly submits that the respondent undertakes to pay a sum of Rs.16,00,000/- per annum towards the fees of education for his daughter - Ms. Janvi Khurana at the University of Bath, U.K. by directly transferring the said amount in trenches of four (4) quarterly installments on or before 07th of each quarter i.e. 07th January, 07th April, 07th July and 07th October to the bank account of his daughter, details whereof he already has with him. He further submits that since a sum of Rs.5,00,000/- has already been transferred to the account of his daughter in pursuance of the impugned order, he will transfer a further sum of Rs.3,00,000/- to her account on or before 07th April, 2025. He also submits that he shall continue to transfer the cumulative amount of Rs.16,00,000/- per annum, quarterly as undertaken hereinabove till his daughter completes her education in Business Management from the University of Bath, U.K. till the academic sessions 2026-27.

In the light of this stand taken by the respondent, we dispose of the appeal alongwith the pending applications by modifying the impugned order and directing that the respondent will be liable to pay a sum of Rs.16,00,000/- per annum towards the fees of education at University of Bath, U.K. for his daughter on or before the 7th of each quarter, in four (4) quarterly installments till the daughter Ms. Janvi Khurana completes her education in Business Management therefrom till the academic session The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.

2026-27. Needless to say, while disposing of the present appeal, we hope that daughter of the respondent will also endeavour to build a bond with him in view of the gesture shown by the respondent.
