The present petition has been filed under Section 528 of BNSS seeking quashing of FIR No. 193/2016 dated 08.04.2016 under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC & 4 Dowry Prohibition Act registered at Police Station Jafrabad, Delhi qua the petitioners, on the ground that the petitioners have arrived at settlement with the respondent No.2/complainant. 4.

Issue notice.

Ms. Richa Dhawan, learned APP appearing on behalf of the State accepts notice.

The brief facts of the case are that the marriage between the petitioner no.4 and respondent no. 2 was solemnized on 10.08.2014 according to The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.

Muslim Rites and Customs. From the said wedlock, no child has been born. 7.

It is stated that the husband of respondent No.2/complainant namely Kasim, S/o Late Nasim, was declared PO by the learned Trial Court. It is stated that the present petition has been filed by the other co-accused after they entered into settlement with the respondent No.2/complainant. 8.

The petitioners as well as respondent No.2 are present in Court and they have have been identified by their respective counsel, as well as, by the Investigating Officer- SI Hemant Kumar, PS Jafrabad. 9.

During pendency of the proceedings, the petitioners as well as complainant/respondent No.2 were referred to the Mediation, where they have arrived at a settlement, the terms whereof have been reduced in writing in the form of report dated 15.09.2025, a copy of which has been annexed as "Annexure- E" to the present petition.

It is recorded in the settlement that the parties have arrived at settlement without any consideration and the respondent No.2 shall cooperate for the quashing of FIR. 11.

The respondent no.2, on a query posed by the Court, affirms the fact that she has entered into settlement with the petitioners and has no objection in case the present FIR is quashed qua the petitioners. 12.

In view of the fact that the parties have arrived at a settlement, no useful purpose will be served in continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them.

It is, thus, in the interest of justice that the present FIR and all the other proceedings emanating therefrom be quashed qua the petitioners. 14.

Consequently, the present petition is allowed and the FIR No.193/2016 dated 08.04.2016 under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC registered The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.

at Police Station Jafrabad alongwith all other proceedings emanating therefrom, is quashed, qua the petitioners.
