The present petition has been filed seeking direction to the respondent nos.1 to 4 to grant protection to the life and liberty of the petitioners and their family members from respondent nos.5 to 8.

The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners submits that the petitioners are sister and brother. On 11.11.2024, they came to know that Reshma, who is the daughter-in-law of another sister of petitioners, committed suicide. Reshma was married to Asif about 15 years ago. It was a love marriage and since then the couple used to live in Pataudi, Haryana. 3.

The respondent nos.5 to 8 are relatives of Reshma and after the death of Reshma, the respondent nos.5 to 8 have been constantly abusing, threatening to kill the petitioners and their family members and are also threatening to damage their property and belongings.

night of 25/26.11.2024, the respondent nos.5 to 8 poured petrol on the main door of the house of the petitioner no.1 and put the same on fire. With great difficulty, the petitioner no.1 and her family members saved themselves. He submits that thereafter the respondent nos.5 to 8 went to the house of the petitioner no.2 and burnt his Wagon R car.

In view of the above, issue notice. Mr. Sanjay Lao, the learned Standing Counsel (Criminal) accepts notice on behalf of the respondent nos.1 to 4/State.

Mr Lao submits that in respect of the incident that took place during the intervening night of 25/26.11.2024, FIR No.822/2024 under Sections 326(f)/326(g)/351(3)/3(5) of BNS, 2023 was registered on 26.11.2024. 7.

He apprised the Court that the accused persons have been granted interim protection by the learned Sessions Court. 8.

He further submits that the numbers of beat constables will be shared with the petitioners. He submits that if any complaint is received from the petitioners, the same will be attended to by the concerned SHO on urgent basis, in accordance with law. The statement is taken on record. 9.

In view of the above statement, the learned counsel for the petitioners submits that he does not wish to press the petition. 10.
