concerned from Police Station Mehrauli, New Delhi. 6.
Brief facts of the present case are that parties are residing in the same vicinity and are neighbours. On 18.06.2024, quarrel took place between the parties, upon which respondent no. 2 had made a complaint against the petitioner before the concerned Police Station, culminated into the present FIR. It is also stated that a cross-FIR bearing No. 393/2024, for commission of offence punishable under Section 323/341/506 of IPC was also registered at police station Mehrauli, Delhi against the respondent no. 2. 7.
It is stated that during the pendency of the proceedings, the parties have now amicably settled their disputes vide Memorandum of Settlement dated 19.11.2024.
8.
On a query made by this Court, respondent no. 2 who has been identified by the IO concerned, has categorically stated that he has entered into compromise out of her own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. Therefore, she has no objection if the FIR is quashed. 9.
In view of the above, that the parties have amicably resolved their differences of their own free will, and without any coercion, and no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. 10.
Accordingly, FIR bearing No. 381/2024, registered at Police Station Mehrauli, New Delhi, for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 323/341/354/506/509 of IPC and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.
