The respondent has taken the stance that after 25.01.2022, the Punjab and Maharashtra Co-operative Bank Limited ceases to be a multi-state cooperative society due to its amalgamation with Unity Small Finance Bank Limited. The petition, therefore, is not maintanble. 2.

Upon hearing the learned counsel for the parties, the Court finds the submission of the respondent to be acceptable. As on date, Section 84 of the Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act, 2002 cannot be made applicable. 3.

Under these circumstances, the instant petition stands disposed of. 4.

Liberty is, however, granted to the petitioner to file an appropriately constituted application or to take any appropriate recourse in accordance with extant rules.
