The present petition has been filed by the petitioners seeking directions to the concerned authority namely the Delhi Child Protection Unit (East), the State Adoption Resource Agency (SARA) and the Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA) to expedite and finalize the adoption proceedings of minor child, Rhea Goyal (petitioner no.3), as sought by the petitioner no.1 vide Registration No.RSDL202511352204 on 05.11.2025, immediately following the solemnization of marriage of petitioner no.1 and petitioner no.2 on 03.11.2025.

It is submitted that unless the requisite formalities are completed prior to petitioner no.3 attaining the age of majority on 14.12.2025, the adoption The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. would be jeopardised, thereby gravely affecting the rights of all the petitioners, particularly the petitioner no.3. 3.

During the course of hearing, it transpires that the necessary verification has already been conducted by Delhi Child Protection Unit (East).

Learned counsel for the respondent, who appears on advance notice submits that the matter is under examination by the concerned agencies as per the prevalent regulatory regime.

Considering the circumstances, the respondents are directed to expedite the regulatory / procedural steps required to be taken and ensure that the requisite decision is taken by CARA within a period of two weeks from today.

The above directions are necessitated in view of the peculiar facts and circumstances, and considering the interest and welfare of the concerned child (petitioner no.3).
