In compliance with the last order of this Court, the jewellery was produced and returned to the Customs officials. 2.
Learned counsel appearing for the respondent states that a Show Cause Notice under Section 124 of the Customs Act, 1962 shall be issued to the petitioner within a period of ten days from today. 3.
The petitioner to submit reply to the same within a period of two weeks after receipt of the Show Cause Notice. 4.
We direct the respondent to conclude the proceedings in any case within a period of six weeks from today.

In case if the proceedings are not concluded by passing and communicating appropriate order to the petitioner within six weeks, the petitioner shall be entitled for the provisional release of the gold. respondent shall thereafter forthwith release provisionally the gold seized from the petitioner in the backdrop of the detention receipt dated 31st March 2024/1st April 2024.

The respondent shall have regard to the stand of the petitioner that he has retracted the confessional statement recorded under Section 108 of the Customs Act, 1962 and shall deal with the same issue. 7.
The petition, accordingly, stands disposed of. 8.
If adverse order is passed against the petitioner, liberty to approach afresh.
