The hearing has been done through hybrid mode. 2.

The present petition has been filed by the Petitioner under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, inter alia, seeking release of the detained goods i.e.,gold bar weighing 250 grams (hereinafter, gold bar), which was detained by the Customs Department on 30th November, 2023. 3.

A brief background of the case is that the Petitioner is an Indian resident, who had returned to India on 30th November, 2023. Upon his arrival at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi, he was intercepted by the concerned officials of the Customs Department and the gold bar was seized by the Customs Department, vide detention receipt dated 30th November, 2023.

Vide Order dated 11th November, 2025 Ld. Counsel for the Respondent was directed to produce a copy of the Revision Application (herein after 'RA') if it had been filed by the department. The same has been placed before the Court today. The same is dated 19th February, 2025, however, unfortunately, the advance copy of this Petition has also not been served upon the Petitioner. It is directed that in future, whenever either Appeals or RAs are filed by the Department, copies of the same shall be served upon the Petitioner via E-Mail or Mobile Number and also through the Counsel who may have appeared for the Petitioner during the adjudication proceedings. 6.

Mr. Sumit Mann, concerned Official from the Customs Department is present in person today. He submits that he was not dealing with this particular file and could not lay hands on the RAs and hence, the same could not be given to Mr. Vishal Chadha, SSC for the Respondent. The explanation is accepted.

Considering that the RA has already been filed, way back in February 2025, let the same be decided within three months, latest by 31st March, 2026.

The Petition is disposed of in these terms. Pending Application, if any, stands disposed of.

All rights and remedies are left open.
