The present petition has been filed under Section 482 CrPC seeking quashing of FIR No.0600/2022 under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC registered at P.S. Baba Haridas Nagar, Delhi and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom, on the ground that the parties have arrived at a settlement.

Notice in the petition was issued by this Court vide order dated 10.12.2024 and the same was accepted by the learned APP appearing on behalf of the State, as well as, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent no.2.

The petitioner no. 1 (former husband), as well as, respondent no. 2 (former wife) are present in Court and they have been identified by their respective counsels, as well as, by Investigating Officer, i.e., SI Gayatri, P.S. Baba Haridas Nagar, Delhi.

Apart from the terms agreed between the parties in the settlement dated 22.09.2023, it was also agreed that the petitioner no.1 shall pay further sum of Rs.30,000/- to the respondent no.2 as part of full and final settlement. The additional amount of Rs.30,000/- has been paid to the respondent no.2 today in the court by the petitioner no.1 by way of Demand Draft bearing No.054774 dated 10.12.2024 issued by State Bank of India. 5.

The respondent no.2, who is present in Court, acknowledges having received original settlement amount of Rs. Rs.3,35,000/- besides the additional amount of Rs.30,000/-.

The respondent no.2, on a query put by the Court, states that she has no objection in case the FIR is quashed.

In view of the fact that the parties have arrived at a settlement, no useful purpose will be served in continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them.

It is, thus, in the interest of justice that the present FIR and all the other proceedings emanating therefrom be quashed. 9.

Consequently, the petition is allowed and the FIR No.0600/2022 under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC registered at P.S. Baba Haridas Nagar, Delhi along with all other proceedings emanating therefrom, is quashed.
