This is a writ petition seeking issuance of writ of mandamus for directions to respondent nos. 1 and 2 to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner and his family members.

It is submitted that respondent nos. 3 to 10 had earlier filed complaint cases under Section 138 NI Act against the petitioner on the basis of forged cheques, and such complaints have since been dismissed. family including warning of elimination and in this regard petitioner has also filed a complaint case before the trial court in which action taken report has been called by the trial court.

Petitioner apprehends threat to his life. The State is under constitutional obligation to provide protection to its citizens and this Court being the constitutional court is to expected to further the constitutional rights of the petitioner.

Respondent nos. 1 and 2 are therefore directed to provide protection to the petitioner and ensure that no harm befall to the petitioner. The mobile numbers of the Beat Constable of the area where the petitioner is residing be shared with the petitioner so that in case of any need the petitioner may be able to contact the Beat Constable for immediate assistance. 5.
The petition is accordingly disposed of in terms of the aforesaid order.
